Christians gathered in communities

Christian Communities were known as households because they
gather inside their houses

Their gatherings are signs of unity in worshipping God

Love for one another is shown in their life of service

St. Paul promoted the spirit of living in a community through his letters

St. Paul asked the early Christians to support each other to make their faith stronger

Plenary Council, pronounced that the

“They spent their time in learning form the apostles,
taking part in the fellowship meals and the prayers.
Many miracles and wonders were being done through
the apostles, and everyone was filled with awe. All the
believers continued together in close fellowship and
shared their belongings with one another. They would
sell their property and possessions, and distribute the
money among all, according to what each one needed.
Day after day, they met as a group in the Temple, and
they had their meals together in their homes, eating
with glad and humble hearts, praising God, and
enjoying the good will of all the people. And every day,
the Lord added to their group those who were being
saved.” (Acts 2:42-47)

states: “It is a small faith community of
Christians, gathered together around the
Word of God and the Eucharist striving to
integrate their faith in their daily life in
solidarity with one another, action for

Bishop Francisco Claver, SJ
– Promoter of BEC
 He

said: “The BEC is any community of
believers, who meet regularly, usually
under lay leaderships, to express their
faith in common worship, to discern in
faith on their life problems and
opportunities and to act in faith on those
same problems and opportunities in
community, as community.

 The

Basic Ecclesial Community is a
way of being a Church. Through BEC,
the Church is brought to the people
where the Word of God and the
Eucharist are celebrated. It is also
through the BEC that each member
truly feels the sense of belongingness
in a community where problems are
resolved by members who have faith
in God.

BEC in our school

The Church extends its arms in the Parochial and
Catholic Schools who shared the responsibility of the
Church, bringing the Good News to the People of God
and sharing in one community

In schools, the students can be grouped according to
each grade and their level of understanding with the
teachers as their guides

The personnel of the school can also have these
groupings in BEC to promote camaraderie and
understanding among the employees of the school

Every First Friday of the Month is BEC Day

Each BEC Day, the BIBLIARASAL activity...
