Overview and Content
1. Welcome and Introduction to the Module
Financial Management builds upon your accounting, finance and business knowledge in Year 1. As such it is assumed that you fully understand your year 1 studies.

If you attend all of the lectures and undertake all seminar work, you should be able to pass the course. However, to do better than just pass the course, you should show evidence of further reading beyond the minimum recommended. In that way you will also get more out of the course.

Be prepared to devote 200 hours to learning this new module. As an approximate guide over a 14 weeks period this means

14 weeks of 3 hours learning sessions = 42 hours
14 weeks of 9 personal study hours = 158 hours

Note that you spend 3 times as much in personal study as compared to the formal learning sessions.

Remember, the module study guide is designed to provide information that will assist you in successfully completing this module. It is designed to guide your learning through each of the 14 study sessions.

Please read this Module Study Guide completely before you familiarise yourself with the expectations of the module and the relevant material.

2Administrative and Technical Support

Usha Mistry is your module leader, and any problems associated with the module should be presented to her.

You also have a programme leader, who will support students with any other problems and a personal tutor will be allocated to you for the academic year. Your admin and technical support contact is Androula Lambrou . In addition to the above support, UWL also has Student Support Services to assist e.g. with disability issues, accommodation, visa etc. The university Central Support can be accessed via clicking on the link: http://www.uwl.ac.uk/MyRegistry.jsp
