Many people believe that the stock market crash happened on Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929 is one and the same with the Great Depression. It was one of the major causes that led to the Great Depression. Two months after the original crash in October, stockholders had lost more than $40 billion dollars. By the end of 1930, America entered the Great Depression and so did Australia. I’m reporting from Danbury Reporter Inc. Although the fall of the New York Stock Exchange determined its timing there were several factors involved including a fall in export prices and sales, a fall in overseas loans leading to a reduction in government capital spending and a fall in residential construction.
